I recently purchased the Blue Book of Acoustic Guitars to get a realstic value of this guitar. It is my mom's, she inherited it from my Dad's death. Anyway, she was told by an appraiser a few years ago that this guitar was worth around $100,000.00I am trying to get a more acurate value and get the details of what this guitar actually is. What I know is that it is a Martin and has just a serial number on it (19004) dating it at 1923. I was also told it is one of 5 of this model that was ever created. I cannot find a way to match up a serial number with a model number though.
Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

Of course, many of the older guitar builders and craftsmen were still in Kalamazoo; and if they weren't ready to change how they built guitars, then they may not have been ready to change how they numbered them!
